CADD/GIS Administrator 2 - Geographic Analysis Support

MCD is seeking a resource to provide geographic analysis support. Candidates presented this role should have 5 to 7 years of Geographic Information System (GIS) Analysis experience.

This role will support and work closely with the Project team to provide:

· ArcGISprogramming support: LISA cluster, outlier analysis, catchment area analysis,as well as programming in model builder, python, and SAS.

· Training for analysts to perform basic mapping functions and improve system performance

Detailed Day-To-Day Job Duties to be performed:

- Meet with business SMEs to define geospatial analysis needs

- Work with DGA analysts to integrate ArcGIS geospatial shape files with Tableau

- Create specialized geospatial files and maps for census track and behavioral health capacity work

- Work in conjunction with clinical analytics area to advance in-depth geospatial analysis

- Calculate time and distance for SPBM and Managed Care program and verify accuracy

- Use provided queries or data sources to understand how to integrate ArcGIS shape files with the new dashboards as assigned

- Review test geospatial files with team members to identify additional development needs

- Complete quality assurance checks to validate correct map displays and provide technical recommendations

- Work with access request and IT staff members as needed

REQUIRED Skill Sets:

- 6+ years in data analysis and related tools (e.g. Excel, Python, R)

- 4+ years with identifying data anomalies

- 6+ years data visualization (e.g. ArcGIS)

- 6+ years with ArcGIS mapping development including advanced mechanics

- Ability to document business needs, develop method and quality control documentation, and track key decisions/actions

- Ability to establish priorities and follow through on projects, paying close attention to detail with minimal supervision

- Ability to accept feedback and modify project plans accordingly

- Effective team player in a quick delivery environment

• Data analytics experience and use of large relational databases

• Proficient use of Network Analyst tool within ArcGIS software regularly to calculate correct time and route distance in professional setting (e.g. understanding most efficient route distance from point A to B)

• Python skillset within ArcGIS environment, especially in relation to automating spatial analysis done (e.g. setting up script)

• Excellent communication skills (e.g. be coherent when answering questions in succinct manner – i.e. incorporating STAR (situation, task, action, and result) to articulate processes

Preferred

• ArcGIS teaching experience

• Healthcare data experience including geospatial analysis including census track/block data within ArcGIS

DESIRED Skill Sets:

- Advanced SQL language experience

- Experience with Big Data platform tools such as Hadoop, Hue, or Impala

- Ability to stay informed about current best practices and new developments in the field of data visualization and geospatial analysis

- Excellent written and oral communication skills with both technical and business SMEs

- Ability to discern critical from minor problems and innovate potential solutions

- Demonstrates effective leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills

- Ability to support the training/development of team members’ technical skills
